DRUM COURSES FOR BEGINNERS
We enter the fascinating world of West African rhythms with playful exercices. We focus on the tradition of Malinke with it‘s polyphonic structure (solo and accompaniment). With this traditional instruments (Djembe, Doundoun) we learn technique, accompamiments, solos and improvisation according to the different levels of the students. We will also create our own arrangements and have a look at some more instruments such as balafon, rattles, bells etc.. Afterall, the fun of playing music together will be our primary focus!

ADVENCED DRUM COURSES
We immerse ourselves in the world of West African rhythms and deal with fourth- and the challenging twelve-eight-beats. The basic technique is required but we go into details and learn new variations. Bass drums with it‘s variations, solos and improvisations in the West African style will be further topics.

During my expanded travels through Westafrica, it was especially the music of the Malinke I became acquainted with. Through Famoudou Konate, himself leader of the „ballet africain“ since more than 20 years, i became familiar with the traditions and the unoverse of rhythm of the Malinke.
Rhythm is a special experience for everybody, professional or layman and it is my pleasure to mediate this experience to all people.
